# Add credits to your Genie account

> Top-ups let you buy additional credits whenever you need them on any paid plan. They stack on top of your monthly allowance and expire one year after purchase.

If you run through your monthly credits before your billing period renews, you can purchase a credit top-up to keep building without waiting. Top-ups are available on all paid Genie plans and are a one-time purchase — they are not a subscription.

<Note>
  Top-ups are not available on the Starter (free) plan. Upgrade to any paid Genie plan to unlock the ability to purchase additional credits.
</Note>

## Available top-up amounts

Choose the amount that matches what you need. You can buy multiple top-ups at any time.

| Top-up size | Credits added |
| ----------- | ------------- |
| Small       | 100 credits   |
| Medium      | 200 credits   |
| Standard    | 300 credits   |
| Large       | 500 credits   |
| Extra large | 750 credits   |
| Pro         | 1,000 credits |
| Ultra       | 1,500 credits |
| Max         | 2,000 credits |

## How top-ups work alongside your monthly allowance

Top-up credits are added directly to your account balance and used alongside your monthly allowance. Genie draws from your total available balance — monthly credits and top-up credits together — without any distinction between the two.

<Tip>
  Top-up credits expire one year after purchase, independent of your billing cycle and any monthly rollover. If you buy more than you use this month, the remainder carries forward until you use it or the year is up.

## Pricing

Top-up prices are shown in euros (€) and exclude tax. The exact price per credit decreases slightly at higher top-up amounts — buying a larger bundle costs less per credit than buying smaller amounts repeatedly.

Pricing is displayed live in the **Billing** panel when you click **Add credits**, so you always see the current price before committing.

## Frequently asked questions

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Do top-up credits expire?">
    Yes, after one year. Credits you purchase through a top-up expire exactly one year after purchase, regardless of billing cycles or plan changes — they don't need to be used within the current billing period like your monthly allowance.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I buy a top-up if I'm on the Starter plan?">
    No. Top-ups are only available on paid plans (Genie, Genie Plus, Genie Pro, and Genie Ultra). Upgrade your plan first, then purchase a top-up if you need more credits.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What happens to my top-up credits if I downgrade?">
    Your unused top-up credits remain in your account after a plan change. You can continue using them on your new plan.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I buy more than one top-up at a time?">
    Yes. You can purchase top-ups multiple times. Each purchase adds to your total credit balance immediately.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="When should I buy a top-up versus upgrading my plan?">
    If you occasionally exceed your monthly allowance, a top-up is the most cost-effective option. If you consistently run out of credits every month, upgrading to a higher plan gives you more credits at a lower effective cost per credit than repeated top-ups.
